We as humans are infatuated with flowers and use all 5 of our senses to experience them. We drink hibiscus tea, extract the essence to use in perfumes and even pick them to place them in a vase and admire their beauty. We get joy from planting them with our own hands and love to watch and listen to flower fields blow in the wind. I have always believed that...

If you close close enough, everything in nature can teach you a lesson about life.
Flowers hold so much wisdom and are such beautiful, magnetic and strong forces of nature. They bring so much laughter, love, joy and happiness to the spring and summer seasons. In honor of these beautiful pieces of art created by nature I wanted to share with you 21 of the lessons flowers taught me about life:
1. You choose how, when and where you want to grow
The gardener plants you but has no control over your growth. You don't have to look, act or be like any other flower. You can be wild and free my beautiful wildflower...

2. Have patience
The two must underrated skills you can develop is having patience and being flexible. Anytime you feel that you are behind in life just remember that

3. Believe in yourself
Stop holding yourself back. You are enough, you are worthy, enough and deserving of your wildest dreams. It doesn't matter if you don't fit in, if it's a one in a million chance, go for it, be wild, free and let yourself grow wherever your heart desires.

4. Your mindset is what matters most

It is not what happens to you but how you react to it that will make or break your life. You can choose a mindset that is negative and stuck or you can choose to have a growth mindset where you are always learning, growing and becoming a stronger and better version of yourself. The perspective you on life is your choice, but ask yourself, how do you want to see the world?
Do you want to be the person that
sees a weed or a wish?
5. Share your beauty with the world
There is nothing more beautiful than a person who is unapologetically themselves and in love with life. Self acceptance, confidence and courage is contagious. Share your unique gifts with the world and inspire others to do the same. Shine your light and some of the darkness of the world will disappear.
"Almost every person, from childhood, has been touched by the untamed beauty of wildflowers."- L.B Johnson
6. Learn to let go

There is no reason to hold onto things that are no longer serving you like habits, relationships and beliefs. We all need reminding every now and then that when you let go of the old you make room for the new. There is only so much mental, physical and emotional space we can hold.
7. Always follow the light
It won't always be easy to see it or feel the warmth of light but never lose faith that it is there and always keep growing in that direction.

8. Be grateful for you have not sad for what you don't

It might surprise you but I love flowers so much but I have never and never will be able to smell one in my life. I have multiple rare genetic diseases and was born without the sense of smell, a condition called congenital anosmia. Some people lose their smell and taste as they get older or don't get it back after after having covid 19 but it is uncommon to be born without it. This also means I am missing at least 80% of my taste but you don't need smell or taste to appreciate the beauty of flowers. You have the choice to focus and be grateful for all of the things you do have going in your life and not to worry about the things you are lacking.
9. You never know when you will fall in love
I met my boyfriend when I was visiting my hometown in Northern California. I was moving from South Korea to Canada and he was about to leave for Iceland to compete in the World Yoyo competition. I thought there was no way we could make it work even though there was definitely a spark and we were so compatible. We decided even though we were living in different countries to appreciate the time little time we had to spend together. He even flew out to Toronto where I was just to spend an extra week with each other.

I always said that I would never do a long distance relationship because it is too complicated. That changed when I met him because after just a few months of talking everyday and seeing each other when we could, I knew that this was special and that the world had us collide for a reason.
Five years later and a lot has changed. We have roots in California but we own our own businesses and travel the world together. Our love story felt like something straight out of a sappy romance movie. The lesson here is you never know when, where and how you will fall in love but when it happens, enjoy the beautiful journey. After all, it's the plot twists in life that is what makes it interesting.
10. Some things are out of your control

A flower knows that it cannot control the seasons. It can only adapt the best it can. Some winters will be longer, some summers will be shorter than expected but one thing remains the same, life is always changing. Just remember, every season has it's purpose and is helping you learn, grow and become a better person.
11. People will always criticize you
Some people will want to stay in the darkness and will do anything to dim your light. Don't let that stop you from shining and from pursuing your dreams.

12. You attract the energy you radiate
This is true in dating, careers and in every area of life. Most of the time you will get back the same energy you give but not always. When it isn't reciprocated then just remember that it is okay to not be liked and to be misunderstood. Just keep focusing on shining your light and giving out good vibes.

13. Healing isn't always pretty
Instagram does not show all of the ugly that comes from being on a healing journey. Overcoming trauma, getting sober, setting boundaries with narcissists are not pretty and fun but from all of that ugly work comes the beauty.
14. No one is perfect
You are nature and everything natural is perfectly imperfect. We all have thorns and if we aren't careful we will hurt others with them. To avoid this one must be aware of where their thorns are so that they can ensure the people they love will avoid getting pricked by them.
Daily reminder:
You were born to be real, not perfect.
15. Not everyone is going to see your beauty
Not everyone is going to want you in their garden and that is okay. Just remember:
"Your value doesn't decrease based on someone's inability to see your worth."
16. The hard times will make you grow

Life metaphorically rains on us no matter how hard we try to control it and predict it, we just can't avoid it. Maybe you didn't get into the school of your dreams, got fired from your job, got your heartbroken or someone you love is very ill. During these difficult moments just remember to:
“Be like a flower. Survive the rain but use it to grow.”
These times are HARD AF and no one ever wants to go through them but after some time and healing you will see that there are beautiful life lessons to learn from every experience we go through.
Your biggest struggles help form your biggest strengths so don't be afraid of the hard times because they will only help you to grow.
17. Stay grounded
Strong roots are the key to surviving any storm.

17. It's okay to get help when you need it
Even the most beautiful, strong and wild flowers do not grow on their own. It's okay to get help, especially when the conditions to grow are harsh.
19. Give yourself the same love, care & acceptance you show others
It is amazing how many people focus on everyone and everything else around them and neglect their own needs.

Take your own advice, practice self care, compassion and acceptance. You are meant to nurture and help everything you love, including yourself.
20. Comparison is toxic

When you find yourself comparing your journey to others just remember that everyone blooms at different times and every flower is unique and beauty comes in all shapes, sizes and colors.
21. You don't get to choose where you were planted
but you can choose how and in which direction you want to grow. The song wildflowers from Dolly Parton will resonate with so many of you wild and free spirits...
Just a wild mountain rose Needing freedom to grow So I ran fearing not where I'd go When a flower grows wild It can always survive Wildflowers don't care where they grow...
And the flowers I knew In the fields where I grew Were content to be lost in the crowd They were common and close I had no room for growth And I wanted so much to branch out
So I uprooted myself from my home ground and left Took my dreams and I took to the road...
I grew up fast and wild And I never felt right In a garden so different from me I just never belonged I just longed to be gone So the garden one day set me free...
I hitched a ride with the wind And since he was my friend I just let him decide where we'd go... Just a wild rambling rose seeking mysteries untold No regret for the path that I chose

When a flower grows wild It can always survive Wildflowers don't care where they grow
Bonus life lesson:
If you are unhappy with where you are growing you can uproot yourself and move away to wherever you dream of going. Life is too short to plant yourself in toxic soil.

Next time you are looking at a beautiful bouquet, flower field or painting, remember the many beautiful teachings these flowers have to offer. Flowers have changed my perspective on life in many ways and are a huge inspiration for so many of my jewelry designs.
Flowers can be a beautiful daily reminder of your strength, beauty and connection to nature and the divine.

One of the most difficult things for me to overcome on my healing journey is the need to control life. I wear my flower jewelry when I need a reminder that I cannot control nature but I can learn to adapt to my environment. Life's challenges can be some of the best opportunities to grow stronger. As long as you remember to...
